Odds and Book Ends (Jan. 3-9)

Odds and Book Ends features activities and events in the area related to libraries, books and authors. Submit your events at www.News-Herald.com/Calendar, and check back to The Book Club every week for upcoming events and activities at your local library.


Craft Time at Mentor Public Library, 8215 Mentor Ave., will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 3. Stop by the Children's Department any time during those hours. No registration is required. Some adult help might be required. Details: www.mentorpl.org or 440-25508811, ext. 220.


Girl Scouts can earn requirements for their music patch from 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 5 at Mentor Public Library, 8215 Mentor Ave. Jen Woda, director of Sing and Swing LLC, will teach scouts why music is an important part of our culture. Scouts will have an opportunity to play a song with the group, create movements to music and make a homemade musical instrument. Reel Talk-Book and Movie Discussion Group meets at 2:45 p.m. the second Monday of every month in Morley Library's meeting Room B, with the next meeting taking place Jan. 10.
